Wooten Employees –
I’m sure most of you are aware of the increasing number of states across the US issuing ‘stay at home’ or ‘shelter in place’ mandates. These mandates require social distancing and allow essential travel only. North Carolina is not currently one of these states. Governor Cooper will be hosting a press conference at 1 pm today.
Though there are a few things happening specifically in the consulting engineering industry that I’d like to brief you on:
1. Today at 12:30 pm I will be participating in a virtual roundtable with other A/E industry leaders to discuss our specific business issues and how our industry can assist our communities. Any shareable insights will be forthcoming under separate email.
2. ACEC (and ACEC/NC) have prepared memorandums to the White House, Congress, Governors and State legislative bodies urging that consulting engineering be considered an ‘essential industry’ to continue designing, building and maintaining our nation’s infrastructure during this crisis. Our objective is to continue safeguarding the public while preventing engineering work from being shut down which could significantly hurt our industry and devastate our small- and medium-sized engineering firms.
At The Wooten Company, we continue to operate in a voluntary work-from-home arrangement until further notice.
Thank you for your continued patience and hard work.
